Traffic Violations Bureau
The Traffic Violations Bureau Division is responsible for filing and processing traffic citations and Department of Natural Resources (DNR) citations received in Hall County. The Traffic Violation Bureau's duties include:

In-Office Payments
Fines may be paid Monday through Friday from 8AM-5PM at the Hall County Clerk of Court’s Office, on the ground floor of the Hall County Courthouse located at 225 Green Street, SE, Gainesville, GA 30501. You cannot pay fines until three weeks after the citation date.
Valid government issued identification must be presented to make a payment in-office. Personal checks not accepted. In-office payment options include:

- American Express, Discover, Visa© or MasterCard© (A convenience fee will be applied)2
1. If a payment is to be made in the form of change, the change must be rolled in clear coin wrappers in order to facilitate efficient operations in the office.
2. Convenience fees will apply for payments made by card. These fees are imposed and collected by PayYourTix.com Incorporated for the use of the service and do not go to Hall County Government. Credit/Debit cards accepted are Visa© or MasterCard©.

- Arraignment Information
Arraignment for Traffic Citations is held in Courtroom 103 located on the immediate right after passing through security at the main entrance of the Hall County Courthouse located at 225 Green Street, SE, Gainesville, GA 30501. The main entrance to the courthouse is at the end of the breezeway that is connected to the parking deck. Your Arraignment Date is the Date and Time listed on your citation.

- How much is my citation?
Check online at www.payyourtix.com or email trafficdivision@hallcounty.org or call 770-531-7066.
- If I pay for my ticket, do I still have to go to court?
If you have paid your citation, you do not have to appear in court. If you have paid your citation, you have pled Guilty, and your case is closed.
- I misplaced my citation, what is my citation number and/or court date?

- When can I pay my citation online?
Citations are typically payable online within one month from the Court Date listed on your citation.
- My citation says "Warning”, but it also has a court date. Do I still have to come to court?
No, you do not have to appear in court if your citation states “Warning.”
- I cannot make it to my court date, can I request a continuance?

- Do I have to come to court?
If your citation is not payable online, you must come to court. Email trafficdivision@hallcounty.org or call 770-531-7066 with any questions.
- Will points be issued against my Driver’s License?
The Georgia Department of Driver Services processes points against licenses. All questions about points should be directed to your attorney or the Georgia Department of Driver Services. https://dds.georgia.gov.
- What should I do if I have a Super Speeder citation?
A Super Speeder Fee will be imposed if you are convicted of speeding at 75 mph or more on a two-lane road or at 85 mph and above on any road or highway in the State of Georgia. In addition to the fines and fees paid to the jurisdiction where the speeding offense took place, a $200 Super Speeder state fee is to be paid by the convicted driver.
If the DDS receives notification of your conviction for speeding at 75 mph or more on a two-lane road or highway, or at 85 mph and above on any road or highway in the State of Georgia, you will be notified by first class mail of the $200 Super Speeder fee. You will have 120 days from the date of the notice to pay the fee to DDS.
This fee does not come from the court and must be paid directly to DDS, you may do so by going to dds.drives.ga.gov or calling 678-413-8400.
- When is my court date?
Your Court Date and time should be listed on your citation. Email trafficdivision@hallcounty.org or call 770-531-7066 with any questions.
- Why can’t I find my citation online or why can’t I pay for my citation?
If your citation is not available online, it has not yet been received by the Clerk’s Office or you must appear in person at Arraignment on your Court Date.
- How can I change my address?
Please email trafficdivision@hallcounty.org with your full name, citation number, old address, new address and phone number.
- What should I do if I live out of state?
If you live outside Georgia and have a citation that requires a mandatory court appearance, it may be necessary for you to hire legal counsel to represent you if you are unable to attend Court.
If you received a traffic citation and do not wish to appear in court, you may dispose of it by following the payment instructions above. However, if you wish to appear in Court, live outside Georgia, and cannot appear on your court date, it may be necessary for you to hire legal counsel to represent you.
